Adam Michael has this to say “The aroma of this CO2 cinnamon bark is sweet and spicy, warming and oozes delicious cinnamon toast notes from start to finish. Cinnamon bark is on the IFRA restricted list and all aromatherapists and anyone using on the skin are strongly encouraged not to do so due to the cinnamaldehyde value of 71.7% which is about 20% higher than found with the steam distilled essential oil of cinnamon bark.

A lot of confusion surrounds cinnamon and cassia bark aka Chinese cinnamon and I’d like to touch upon this subject. With cassia, only one oil is produced because the leaves, twigs and bark are all distilled together opposed to Sri Lankan cinnamon where categories exist for both the leaf and bark and grading also takes place for both. Sri Lanka is regarded as the home of true cinnamon. We also offer cinnamon bark produced via steam distillation.”

Mark Evans has this to say “This is a truly remarkable cinnamon bark extract that is surprisingly different from the steam distilled version we are all familiar with. The low pressure CO2 extraction process used here has redefined my opinion on what cinnamon can be. It actually has perfectly balanced notes not just of the red hot cinnamon that we are familiar with but nutmeg, cloves and aniseed as well. The result is a wonderful Christmas melange that is spicy, dry, powdery, balsamic, sweet and woody. Very diffusive and long lasting and after an hour or so on the blotter, the nutmeg and clove ease off to return the fragrance of this CO2 extract back to a more classic cinnamon that always reminds me of Big Red chewing gum. Man, I love that gum but it’s so hard to find nowadays.”
