Adam Michael has this to say “Kunzea is a material many involved in the aromatherapy world may be familiar with due in part at least to its highly praised therapeutic properties. This material is said to be helpful for those suffering with anxiety and has supposedly good anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and anti-oxidant properties to name a few. Also a good material within massage for relaxing tired muscles. This is wild crafted material, produced by steam distilling the aerial plant parts and is clear in colour.
Aromatically the opening notes from the bottle are full of toppy, fresh, feel good, bright character that you would except from smelling say bois de rose and supported with some sweetened herbaceous facets. The heart through to dry down (which is about 16 hours on the strip) is somewhat more delicate, soft-woody, floral, herbaceous with abstract aromatic qualities (so to speak) comparable again to rosewood crossed maybe with manuka.
This material certainly warrants more attention within perfumery in my opinion. Kunzea excels at rounding off sharp aspects of a composition, it imparts a real natural freshness, wonderful for building spring meadow accords and is a must as a modifier for floral and especially floral-woody accords. Highly recommended.”
Botanical Name: Kunzea ambigua

A true multicolor masterpiece, this material opens the stage with a cool note that introduces a medicinal-like (salicylate) sweetness, quite similar to the one of Manuka essential oil. This is rather more herbaceous, but still transmits those sweet-balsamic woody notes.
Kunzea oil evolves in a quite unexpected way, so unpredictable as a journey in Australian wilderness could be. One of the few natural materials I’ve encountered, which contain both impactful sweet and sour odor aspects. The main odor body in the middle is kind of sour, somehow reminiscent of eucalyptus leaves, without losing the effect of the herbaceous and woody opening notes. An excellent natural material with very interesting applications in perfumery, could be an intriguing modifying agent with unpredictable effects, nevertheless worth playing with

Like it!
Smells like herbal, lime, eucaliptus, jasmine, rose, wood; with particular intensity in herbal, lime, eucaliptus.
Dry and fresh, yet slightly sweet in the middle.
